Black dots on new laminate worktop

My kitchen was finished a couple of weeks ago, and I have already got some stains on the worktop. There are 4 black dots like this all in separate places. I have put glass protectors down for to use for hot/wet things and am really careful not to put anything hot directly on it. The stains are not textured at all, it’s almost like they are in the laminate (definitely weren’t there before). I have used a few different things to try and clean them but they are not budging. They look like ink dots, but I don’t even use pens anymore. I can’t think of anything that could have caused it from the surface (there’s no one thing I have put in all 4 places). The only other thing I’ve put down is a silicone based tray. I can’t remember if I’ve used it in all 4 places though, but I can’t see why this would cause it, have checked the tray and there’s no obvious dirt/ink on it.

The spots are above the dishwasher, near the sink, and above 2 separate drawer units where there is no damp or heat directly going . It does seem like it might be seeping through the bottom of worktop but I can’t be sure.

Any ideas what it could be? I’m really worried it’s going to be covered in 100s of black dots in a couple of months! I will contact the shop too but I’m pretty sure they will just say its misuse.

Bar keeper’s friend gets all marks out of my pale worktop… so if that doesn’t work maybe contact the company?

Thank you, I’ll give it a go

Just a thought but are the marks coming from screws under the worktop? Wondering if the screws used to fix the worktop are too long and almost touching the top surface of your worktop iyswim.

That’s the sort of thing I’m thinking @Bubbles456, and possibly some sort of reside coming through. I know similar can happen with oak, not sure about mdf.

When I’ve got some time later on (nightshift) I’ll empty the cupboards so I can get right under and have a look. Thanks!
