Brass Kitchen Handles

We will be ordering our new kitchen very soon and I need to make a few final decisions.

We are going for the Howdens Chelford Fir Green shaker style units with white speckled quartz worktop and oak effect Karndean flooring. Originally we were going for the aged brass handles (this and this) from Howdens, but we'd like a boiling water tap and can not for the life of us find a matching colour tap. But there are lots of brushed brass boiling taps (just had one delivered today which is very pretty). So now I'm thinking we just go for brushed brass handles like this and this. But do they look a bit... naff? Tacky?

What are people's thoughts?

It's a sixties build with silver handles on the doors FYI

Or do we keep the aged brass handles with the brushed brass tap? My husband thinks we should do this, but I think it will look weird obviously not matching

We’ve got the brushed brass knobs (the little round ones you linked to) and the long thin handles and obviously I don’t think they look naff! I saw them in the showroom and liked them. People always compliment my kitchen but I guess they could be being polite!

Just to clarify I don’t ask all my visitors for their opinion on my kitchen so assume if they didn’t like it that they’d keep their opinion to themselves!

IMO against the green units the brushed brass look way nicer. And they’ll match the tap - win win.

I think the second pair of handles look better, more contemporary and stand out against the dark units. But all your metal fittings don't need to match exactly anyway, the antique/brushed brass will blend.
You might want to look at solid brass too, for a quality finish.

Our brushed-effect kitchen handles from Howdens haven't worn well, the coating's started peeling off.

Thanks for opinions. Swaying to brushed brass now!

I’m looking at solid brass for a shaker kitchen too and have worried about matching - more to the oven - a rangemaster Elise - the knobs are chrome. Like you there are very few antique brass hot water taps I found! Devol do an exceptionally expensive one. I wonder if I’m overthinking the matching element. I do think brass looks beautiful with shaker.
i would consider solid brass if you can - for our old kitchen we bought armac Martin cotswold sold brass nickel (I think a silver finish) knobs and they have lasted amazingly, good as new still and to be reused for utility room now. They are very expensive though now so we are looking at a far more reasonable solid brass alternative from Yester Home for our new kitchen.

My main concern with brass is the cleaning involved as it tarnishes quite easily.
