I wouldn’t change a thing! I love those tiles.

daisyjgrey · 04/06/2022 15:55

Those tiles would be staying, bloody love a 70's interior.

Dillydollydingdong · 04/06/2022 16:04

It's only the bathroom. Get it re-tiled

Twiglets1 · 04/06/2022 16:37

Oh wow

NotQuiteUsual · 04/06/2022 16:42

It's so vintage you could rent it out for fashion shoots 🤣 I absolutely love it. But I've always had a soft spot for an avocado suite...

BlueMongoose · 04/06/2022 20:56

I'd redecorate any house, so I never see any point paying over the odds for good decor. I'd rather pay less for tired decor and put the difference towards redecorating.
Those tiles are not as bad as the ones here. Think dark green and brown, in swirls, covering all the walls, pink carpet, eau-de-nil woodwork, and fawn ceiling. It'll be a few years yet before we get to the bathroom, so I just try to ignore the decor- oh, and the 'speckly brown outside and cream inside' porcelain.😝

Octomore · 04/06/2022 21:00

It looks well cared for and in good condition, and the space is generally lovely. If the decor wasn't to your taste, it's all livable while you redecorate.

Did you really just start a thread to mock someone's dated, but pretty normal, bathroom? I mean, really?

Echobelly · 04/06/2022 21:02

The bathroom and kitchen of our house had very similar 'brown on brown' tiles floor to ceiling on all walls when we moved in!

Annabelle69 · 04/06/2022 23:36

KEEP THE TILES.

echt · 05/06/2022 02:56

Lovely patterned tiles.

The pine ceiling is fine. I say this as someone whose house has two rooms entirely walled in pine. We did some experimental painting over. Nah. Should have waited a year as they say. Now I wouldn't change it, and ta da! coming back into fashion as 70s relic.

SlatsandFlaps · 05/06/2022 04:54

Awww I've just come home from Berwick what a lovely place! I'd buy that if I had the money. Do it up and enjoy the rest of my days there. The potential that property has is immense

SirYawnsAlot · 05/06/2022 05:03

Interior looks better than the exterior. What a fugly building linked to the lovely red-brick.

garlictwist · 05/06/2022 06:29

I love a pine ceiling. I'd love to put some in our house but DP has vetoed it. And I secretly quite like that bathroom...

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 05/06/2022 06:33

I love it too, I think it would be a shame to change those tiles

SheilaWilde · 05/06/2022 06:51

I love it, those bathroom tiles are amazing! I'd keep them.

CoolShoeshine · 05/06/2022 17:07

It’s a YES from me.

would be a crime to get rid of all the original features,

Fuckoffeverything · 05/06/2022 17:32

Love it too but my eyes, those tiles are baaaad

ThreeonaHill · 05/06/2022 18:14

That is a gem. I really hope whoever gets it doesn't rip it all out.

I hope they do, it’s hideous.

Great views though.

Restawhile · 05/06/2022 22:54

Oh my goodness - the furniture is gorgeous - I would love this house ,would be tempted to keep the kitchen and live with the bathrooms for a while . A little gem

Never understood why people put carpets in bathrooms. Other than being gross and incredibly unhygienic, it’s hugely weird. Does anyone know her answer?

My grandparents lived in a draughty 1930s house, with no central heating upstairs, only oil heaters, or electric fan heaters. Neither were suitable for a bathroom, although it had a bar heater on the wall operated by a pull switch.I remember the great excitement when they got their bathroom carpeted. It was a strange waterproof carpet, where water just beaded on top and could be wiped up with a towel. As long as you stood in a bath mat to drip off it was fine. I think it was called Flotex, but whatever, it helped keep the bathroom warm.

ANameChangeling · 06/06/2022 14:00

I have the same curtains as in picture 8, in my sitting room!
