Would you buy a house near a 5G Tower?

I'm assuming they can't just put them in the middle of a street surrouned by houses, if they're not safe, but that's where it is!! Are these still considered a cancer/radiation risk?

If only it was possible to search the Internet for information like this.....

I'd happily live right next to one if the only concern is health risks, because there aren't any. It's essentially a conspiracy theory that started in the days of TV transmission towers, then cell phones, then 3g 5g, your home router etc etc.

I'd be more concerned with the ugliness

Starseeking · 24/05/2022 23:48

No I really hate the look of them...saying that, I never one situated directly opposite my old house until I came to sell the place...I had lived there for 4 years and hadn't previously noticed it!

Haha I've been caught out too... going through the process of buying and just noticed it Angry. Not happy!

Mine was disguised by trees @Samara26, so it appeared in autumn/winter when the trees were suddenly bare!

Although is it already too late to pull out? I only ask as if it's bothering you now, it'll be much worse when you move in.

Fizzyfish · 25/05/2022 00:02

No way, I don't want it anywhere near me

There's just so much controversy around the health risks, I'm not bothered about how they look. I can't even see it from where my house is

No, I've heard a rumour that theycause this new illness called Coronavirus...

Being serious though, were you ever concerned that you lived near 2g, 3g or 4g masts? Or wifi hotspots? Or tv masts? The only real issue is what they look like. I think I've only ever seen one mobile mast look like a tress, all the rest round here must be attached to buildings.

Hapoydayz · 25/05/2022 00:31

Yes, I would want a good mobile signal at home. I wouldn’t consider a house with bad mobile signal.

I'd be concerned if I lived near 2G or 3G too... or a WiFi hotspot but I never have. I don't seem to be able to easily get the data on where they all are either...

If you don't want to be near to a WiFi hot-spot, then you'd best move somewhere without any neighbours and with no one likely to walk past with WiFi hotpots activated on their phones.

I think it's just the masks I'm worried about. I do have friends who turn Thor mobile phones to aeroplane mode at night though so they do t have the radiation while they're sleeping

Yes. Because they built one right by our house with no notice or request

So you could end up with one by you anyway. It's the way things are, best not to worry.

It's not right that they do that. Must be loads of places they can stick them without putting them right near houses!

FelicityBeedle · 25/05/2022 01:08

I don’t think you quite get the point of them, no point putting them in the arse end of nowhere as then no one benefits from the signal! They’re harmless, don’t read conspiracy theories

StuckInARug · 25/05/2022 06:55

They’ve installed one on top of a building I can see from my flat - it bothered me in the beginning as it’s so ugly, but I rarely notice it anymore. Do you drink tap water? If yes then I’d be more worried about all that PFOA you’re drinking than some conspiracy theory about 5G!

orangeisthenewpuce · 25/05/2022 06:58

Yes of course

gamerchick · 25/05/2022 07:00

Always makes me chuckle this stuff. Conspiracy from the beginning and the end of time. Never gets old. Grin

bless you OP.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 25/05/2022 07:54

This!! They need to be near houses as people need signal!! Areas where there are no one they are pointless.

do you also worry about chem trials OP…

user1471505356 · 25/05/2022 08:00

Using a mobile phone next to your brain possibly has a hundredfold affect compared to a mast a hundred metres distance.

MadAngryCry · 25/05/2022 08:04

Everyone knows it's where the pigeons got to recharge their batteries.

No - it wouldn't worry me.

CasperGutman · 25/05/2022 10:01

The only possible issue for me would be the look of it, and that only if it was literally right outside. If you didn't even notice it when you viewed, then it doesn't sound like it's a problem.

FuglyHouse · 25/05/2022 10:13

I'd be quite happy if they installed one near me. Our mobile signal is crap.
