Stair bulkhead in box room, rental ideas?

Our 2 year old has just moved into her own room (finally!!). She's currently in a cot and will then go into a toddler bed. This fits in the room but has very little floor space so I wanted to use the bulkhead as some sort of wardrobe solution. However! We are privately renting and don't want to/probably can't pay someone to box it in professionally. The whole family.is also terrible at DIY so no chance of doing it ourselves.

I was thinking about doing a hanging rail on the wall with some sort of storage below, possibly a 2x2 kallax secured to the wall. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and what they did to make it work, or if anyone else has any ideas? It's quite a big bulkhead, I don't have the measurements but the bit that the bedroom door rests on when open is deeper to the wall than the bit thay faces into the room (I've described that terribly but I hope it makes sense?!)

I'm basically looking for a cost and space effective solution for clothes storage!
Thank you 😊

I've added a frankly poor diagram to try and explain. Bh is bulkhead, cot next to it, window labelled too. The red arrow measurement is approx 90cm, the green is shorter but I don't remember it. I believe its about 10cm less, from memory.

Any ideas appreciated and if better measurements are needed to help I can get those tomorrow. Thanks again

We got a small wardrobe that fit on top of it, it was about 4 ft tall.

Wish I could edit posts instead of just adding! I meant to say it's a fairly tall bulkhead too. Its around 90cm tall. Worthy of note is that I can't easily touch the wall across the bulkhead if the window is on myleft side and I'm facing the wall
If my back is to the window and I'm facing the wall.opposite it, its much easier. However we worry if we have the cot under the window the toddler will pull the curtains

Sorry for the ridiculously detailed post but I wanted to cover everything!

I thought about this but I feel.like with how deep and tall the bulkhead is it will be really hard to reach. Do you manage ok?

we just had trofast from IKEA on the bulkhead. For toys but could put clothes in too. Could a chest of drawers go under the window?

Or use the bulkhead as a play space/table
And drawers under window or against the wall.

would a shorty cabin bed fit in the cot space?

The other thing I considered was trying to make a bed with Kallax as the base and the cubes for storage. There’s tutorials on line.

90% of 3 bed houses in my city have one. Many built it in but in the ones we've viewed that didn't, the best shoved a chest of drawers on top.

If its 3ft high it sounds a bit too tall to be putting furniture like wardrobes or drawers on - the Kallax 2x2 or a Trofast could work as toy / clothes storage though.

I'd be tempted to get a large piece of foam the size of the bulkhead, make a cover for it and use it as a seat / reading nook area for stories. Maybe add a low bookshelf too.
