£285 pm for scottish power + boiler insurance! And no other option available? Is it insane??

Just got key to my new home in Scotland. Need to register for the utility and found existing supplier is scottish power so go and intended to register. The quote is 285pm 1 year fixed tariff + boiler insurance, or £284 1 year variable tariff without boiler insurance. Nothing more than that two! Shock me! I use to pay less than £60 pm now in current rental property ( just ds and i). Any advice? Is it no other option but that? So desperate….😢😢

@IcedOatLatte yes I know what’s the difference and I pay as I use. The quote I received online is a compulsory one that come with boiler care and also a fixed tariff rate with exit fee, whilst the one I got over phone is svr which is on a monthly rolling basis that incurs no exit fee. It’s the tariff per unit that is higher than the one I am currently paying with current supplier but I understand that’s the market situation and at least much better than locking myself with one with exit fee plus boiler care which I don’t plan to join.
