£750k to live over other people's garages!

I can't imagine a less appealing 'detached' house - £750k for a leasehold which is essentially a flat over 3 other people's garages! Winchester house prices are high but this seems insane.

I think it's very nicely done myself, but might be a bit dingy due to the tiny windows. It's quite roomy but am suprised it's that much as it's right near the railway line

I'd rather be over garages than over another flat with people and noise in!

Until people start coming and going from their garages in the night, slamming the garage door, revving engines, every weekend the car owners have their cars out in front of your 'mews', taking the engines apart while playing music, pools of oil outside your door....

It's a combination of greed and too many of us here. Lots of people who design and build this type of property don't give much thought to the people who end up living in it.

France and the UK have the same number of people but France is twice the size.

I don't think it's that different to living in any other apartment. At least you don't have full time noisy neighbours!

Dirt cheap - literally 10% of the price of this one

Tiny windows and hardly any light. 😔 It looks like secure accommodation or something for people who might try to escape?! And that tiny garden. Just awful. I also think mortgage providers and insurance companies often won't accept such properties?

Very baffled why anybody would buy this place.

Bloody hell you can get something way nicer around here for less

Bit hard to compare given it's in a different country. 🤣

Annoying that you don't get a garage of your own. Also, how do you get to the garden? There's only the front door so looks a bit of a trek to wherever it is.
