Living Room Layout Advice

Hi - we are looking for some advice and opinions on living room layout (photos attached).

Our living room is a large rectangle, currently has a large fireplace and hearth.

We planned to replace the fireplace to be more modern and shrink the hearth, but this leaves the challenge of where to put the TV. Initially we were going to put it on the wall above the fireplace but this means it will be very high.

1 alternative we are thinking of is a small fireplace (linear fireplace), with a TV above (but lower), and cables running through the wall to a cabinet in the corner.

Everyone's thoughts welcome!

I usually hate TVs on walls but a friend has the Samsung (I think) frame one above a fireplace that looks like a picture when it's not being used and it looks nice. Lots of sitting rooms near me have a quandary if where to put tv because of fireplaces and the other popular thing seems to be having a small one on a small stand to one side of the fireplace.
If I was you I'd check out the Samsung!

Do you want a fireplace?

If so, go for a long low one and put tv above at a good height

If not - take it out. We removed ours completely - pic attached

Hey - thanks so much for all your ideas.
@jackstini - did you have any regrets about removing the fireplace? We would only have having the fireplace for aesthetic purposes, probably never use it.
Have thought about your idea of long low one as well but I don't know if the heat of the fireplace (does it matter if we aren't going to use it?) would interfere with the TV at all.

The other option is to put the TV on a stand on the window side of the room but the glare from outside might impact ability to see the TV and it means the sofa position is going to be weird?

@PlantFrogFriend - no we have never missed it. Like you, it was for aesthetics and we hated the fake Adams style fireplace that was in - did not go with the house at all. The room felt bigger too.

Other option would be to have TV unit & TV along the flat wall, then a modern fire right in the corner - one of those that comes from the roof or looks as though it stands alone if you like that type of look: www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.kernowfires.co.uk%2Fwood-burning-stove-installation-cornwall%2Fcontura-810-in-a-small-corner-setting%2F&psig=AOvVaw01c16ydf3qN_t6FMLxqNTR&ust=1651919449128000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CA0QjhxqFwoTCMCm0uDVyvcCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAF

Or you can get corner fires... www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fyorkfireplaces.co.uk%2Fshop%2Fgas-fires%2Fhole-in-the-wall-gas-fires%2Ffaber%2Ffaber-respect-premium-corner-fire%2F&psig=AOvVaw01c16ydf3qN_t6FMLxqNTR&ust=1651919449128000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CA0QjhxqFwoTCMCm0uDVyvcCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAM

I would put the TV on an arm to the RHS of the fireplace and then you can angle it when watching and put it away when you aren't. TVs above fireplaces are always too high and you can't use the fireplace as the TV would get hot and damaged.
