Fensa - how do you know which doors/ windows were replaced?

Hi guys, quite clueless about replacement door windows / Fensa certificates. Seller has provided Fensa certificates for doors and window replacements at different dates, but there's no other info on which doors and windows were actually replaced.
How can you tell which doors and windows each certificate was for? Do we need to make sure we know which certificate is for which door/window? Should we chase sellers up for this detail, or is it enough to just have the certificates?
(We don't really care honestly plus are short on time but are only concerned if we'll need to know the exact details when we come to sell the house.)

In my experience the certificates don't generally give any details. The CERTASS certificate for a single replacement window we had last year just says "replacement window(s)", which couldn't be vaguer!

The certificates we have don’t give details but it’s fairly obvious in the house which windows are new and which are rubbish, so our buyers weren’t concerned.

Basically you don't, although you know the number of windows/doors replaced so should be able to work it out.

It's very obvious in our house. The frames aren't even the same colour. God knows why the previous owners failed to replace all of them at once.

Good to know, thanks guys! (Feels so pointless for these to be a legal requirement to sell when the certificates are so vague!)

When did you need a certificate for replacing windows? No one's ever mentioned this to me. I don't have any.

TheLette · 04/05/2022 21:21

Yep ours are the same. It's never been questioned when we tried to sell (twice!). Does seem totally mad.

I'm pretty sure it became a legal requirement in 2005 (though don't quote me on that!). As in any windows installed from 2005 onwards has to have a FENSA certificate.
