Photos are being taken of my house tomorrow and we have already had a massive declutter and spruce up.

Do any mumsnetters have tips of things I might have forgotten ahead of the photos? We have a dog and toddler, so just keeping on top of the chaos is exhausting!

Well done on having decluttered already!
Excuse me if these are obvious but just in case.

  • Make sure all lights are on for the photographer
  • Make sure curtains are hanging neatly if you have them/blinds up
  • Make sure beds made neatly
  • All work surfaces as clear as possible (same for tables)
  • If possible, move child/dog clutter into a cupboard or at least ask the photographer if you can move them out of the way for his photos.

Clutter and dark looking rooms are very off putting so just try to make it look as clear and light as possible!

Hide EVERYTHING.
Soap, tea towels, shampoo, toaster.
Make the beds.
Open the curtains as wide,as you can.

We shunted stuff round for photos. So suggested he did DSs room last, and we hoiked the drum kit out into the hall for the photo of that room.
The photos don't look like our house!

Thanks, great tips!

@wonderingwhat2022willbring on first reading I though you were suggesting putting my dog and toddler in a cupboard. Would certainly solve some problems😂

@JurasicPerks good shout on the tea towels etc

Loo seat down!

Our photographer knew what he was doing, he turned the lights on himself and told us what to move.

Like the PP said, it didn't look like our house and sold in a day 🤣

I used this thread when I sold mine - followed everything in it: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/property/4321903-Staging-house-for-estate-agent-photos
