Design ideas question - with photos

Posting this here rather than on gardening board, as it's more of an interior design question (albeit outside). Looking for second opinions about my garden seating area refresh. It's a rental property so I can't spend too much.

My idea was to add a bench seat along the left hand side wall to create an L shaped seating area (so the new bench running against the wall which currently has a red trellis on it.) Then I was going to add an outside floor rug and low square coffee table, plus large potted plants etc. colour scheme was going to be white seating with cyan blue accents (sort of Greek / Mediterranean ish) and outside cushions , plants etc.

Anyway, the existing bench seating is really high - 60cm - which is higher than average. Therefore every bench I've found online is around 40-45cm high. I'm worried it will look completely daft having the new bench be a full 15 or so cm lower. I was planning to make them tie in together with paint and the cushions etc.

Should I abandon the idea of creating the L-shaped bench altogether and just plonk a separate outdoor bench or sofa in that space instead, even though it will be a lower seat?

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

is the current bench comfy to sit on? Or does it feel like you are perching because it is too high?

what do you want to use this area for? eating dinner? coffee? just to look nice?

you could get a bench that is 45cm and use firm seat cushions to make it seem taller. But maybe just separate chairs would be better.

It's mainly for coffee. It's ok, not super comfy but fine for a quick perch.

I'd go for chairs. Much more flexible.

Make your own 60-cm-high bench! It's not that difficult - it's only a plank of wood on supports.
Maybe if you make it wider (two planks) it might be more comfy.

Would love to but I have no time - I'm a mum to toddler!
