Walk in shower will water splash everywhere

We want a walk in shower 1500mm x 900mm and the screen will be 900mm. Does anyone have similar and can advise if the floor will get wet, thanks.

If it's not fully enclosed, the spattering will depend on the size of the people using the shower. If it's me (5'5") none; DH is 6'5" and does create more spray.

When you turn the shower on I can guarantee the floor will get wet.

We have this setup, the floor does get a little wet but it’s not an issue.

It depends which way the shower head is angled. I have a door on my shower but there's no barrier between the shower and bath (it's a deep tub so the lip of the bath is about rib high on me) and we don't really get any spray in the bath.

We have this, I'd never recommend it. Water gets everywhere

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 24/04/2022 14:27

It will unless you have the little flipper door thing (not sure of it’s actual name). Although I agree with XingMing, depends on the size (and carefulness 😁) of the person in it.

As above, we have a little flipper/half door on the shower - use it to sort of block yourself in the shower.

SheWoreYellow · 24/04/2022 14:31

We had this and never got any water anywhere. Must be tidy showerers.

Foxfeeder · 24/04/2022 14:36

It may also depend on your shower head. I’ve got a 1000mm screen with a flipper panel and I manage to get the floor damp if I don’t angle the head the right way but I’ve got a shower head angled on a pole. If it was a monsoon type shower, I don’t know if I would have the same need for the flipper.

I have this - no water doesnt splash everywhere a little bit of water gets on the floor but we have a very thick bath mat

It's also difficult to clean the shower tray. My experience using a walk in one at a relatives house.

MG1412 · 24/04/2022 18:14

I had my bath removed and a 1400mm walk in shower tray installed. The floor doesn't get wet. Not sure whether I would do the same again but overall, I'm happy.

If you have a rainwater type shower head you will have less splash as the water is overhead rather than at an angle to your body.

@beth821
My walk in shower is the same size as yours but with one crucial difference. The glass is 1500. The open end is 900mm. If you have 1500 mm open it will splash! You cannot have a tiny length of glass for a shower that’s 1500 long. I would see if you can get the king side as glass- that’s the standard way to do it. The water is then pretty well contained. We have a large drench head.

Thanks everyone very helpful
