Hi all, anyone had new windows on a 4 bed property and new front door, patio door and willing to give me an idea of cost? Every window has blown and ita doing my head in but I'm scared about how much its going to cost!

Small 3 bed 1980s house with small windows, no patio doors, not the front door and not a Fensa company - £6000. East London last summer.

We've just paid £1400 for a singular patio door. Small local company that charged half of what the bigger ones quoted, up north.

I used to work for a local windows/doors/conservatory place and whilst I have no idea of cost (definitely get three quotes from good firms in your area!) have you considered just having the double glazing units replaced if they’ve blown? If the frames are ok that may be a cheaper option for you.

Just had 3 quotes for a 3 bed semi, 1970's so big windows. 8 windows, 1 set of bi-folds (1.8m wide) and a new front door. Quotes were £6700, £8,300 and £10,200.

Where are you? We've just had 9 windows and a bay and black composite front door for £4500, no longer idea on patio door I'm afraid...

anoldcharter · 23/04/2022 19:06

Forgot to say I'm in NW England

bellac11 · 23/04/2022 19:13

Its impossible to say because they vary so much. We're in the SE and about 5 years ago got everything done but not front door, couldnt decide what I wanted and still cant

That cost us about 8k or it might have been 10k, cant remember, but I wanted the flush fit at the front so it didnt look like that awful upvc look whereby the openers are not flush with the other windows, drives me bonkers. However I wasnt bothered about the back so didnt bother getting the more expensive ones there. 3 bed semi, 7 windows and one back door

GardensandGrandDesigns · 24/04/2022 08:39

We have had quotes for about 7k to do the same last year but prices have probably increased now. I'm in the south east.

Ruralbliss · 24/04/2022 09:00

I had all windows and doors replaced in a large 4/5 1960s which admittedly did have a few more floor to ceiling and patio windows than a standard house so cost £20k for everything

About £350 for each normal sized window, £1200 for the two composite doors

Imohsotired · 24/04/2022 09:06

Was quoted in January - £1300 for regular patio door and £ 3.5k for composite door with side windows.

brokengoalposts · 24/04/2022 09:16

4 bed, NE England, just windows, no doors. Paid £7.5k last year.

Aberration · 24/04/2022 09:17

it was about £700 per window for us (north)

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 24/04/2022 09:22

Thanks for all the info. The frames are 20 years old and need replacing too to it'll be the whole lot. We're in the midlands. Its looking like 7-10000 then yikes! I'll been warned off the big firms like anglian so will get 3 local quotes and go from there.

The top of the range UPVC sliding sashes we just had put in cost around £1000 per window(so £3000 for a bay).
You can get ordinary hinged windows for about half that.
If the frames are ok, replacing just the blown glass panels is another option which will probably be half that again.
