Electric shower to Mixer in second bathroom with combi boiler

Yay or nay?
We’re getting our downstairs bathroom renovated and thought this might be a good time to switch it out. But not sure if it’s a good idea.
This bathroom has been converted from a garage, has hot water in the sink and a 9.5 KW electric shower installed. The bathroom is adjacent to the utility, which houses the boiler (separated by a wall)
Upstairs we have a mixer shower with a good flow rate approx 11 l/min, good heat.
Boiler is a Worcester combi.
I’m concerned about the flow rate or heat being worse than the current electric (which gives approx 8l/min and max 48C as per spec)
Still need to talk to the plumber about it…

thanks!

I've got a combo (oil) and 2 showers (main bathroom and ensuite).

The pressure on both is fine, although obviously can't use both at the same time.

I keep debating changing the main bathroom one for an electric shower so I'd have an independent hot water source in the event of a boiler issue, running out of oil etc.

Unless the pressure our your existing electric shower isn't good enough, what's the advantage of changing?

Can your combi boiler supply q decent shower while also running a hot tap elsewhere in the house? If not, why would it be able to run two showers at once?

We chose to have an electric shower put in our downstairs shower room so that (a) we can use two showers at once and (b) we still have a source of hot water if the boiler breaks down or there issue with the gas supply.

To my mind, an alternative hot water supply is more useful near the kitchen and utility room than upstairs, but your mileage may vary.

Thanks everyone. We did finally end up switching the electric for a regular shower. Hope I don’t regret it later but for now am very happy with the better flow rate from the mixer shower. (Also looks so much better)

It’s very unlikely we’ll use the showers simultaneously so fingers crossed it should work for us.
