Anyone got one of these?

Do they do the job? Are they expensive to run?

Looking at a new build EPC B so insulation not an issue

But heard these can be inefficient/ expensive in cold weather

It runs the heating (ufh) and hot water

Thank you!

Any other things to be aware of also appreciated! This one doesn't seem too noisy thankfully

We have one, also in a new build. 215 square metre house and we use about 11,000 kwh in the last year. That's with us basically all electric - we technically have a hybrid system so we have a secondary gas boiler, but in the 20 months we have lived here we have used a total of 40 units of gas, so it's basically unnecessary.

There's someone home virtually 24/7 too. We have normal radiators rather than underfloor, not sure how much difference that makes.

I can't hear it at all in the house.

Biggest challenge seems to be maintenance/servicing. There are still very few folk around here so when one of the neighbours broke down they were stuck for days waiting to even get hold of the service company. We do all have a backup immersion heater...thankfully!

We have three. One for swimming pool and two for house. They are better linked to solar panels and battery storage but that installation costs money. With increasing electricity costs, it must be looked at.

we back up with immersion heater. Have had one heat pump go wrong. It was sorted but we have the other one!

Hot water isn’t as hot. They blue out cold air. Siting is important. However we had oil and we are not going back to that. Ours are 12 years old so they’ve been ok.

Amazing thank you

We have one. I would strongly suggest you get a maintenance contract on it with the manufacturer. Don’t let anyone touch it without checking their credentials. Thinking of British Gas and the like. Go for someone who maintains them day in day out. The controls are mind blowing.
