Insulating a conservatory roof?

Occasionally - usually mid-winter & mid-summer I wish i had never built my conservatory

Are there any quick fix (or even not so quick fix) methods of insulating a conservatory roof

I already have roof banners (tight woven cotton) but they don't do much

Dont' think there is. Know what you mean tho about mid winter and summer - either very cold or very hot. Sometimes I wish that we had a summer room built instead of a conservatory. I don't think it would have cost that much more money.

We have two heaters in ours at the moment (the boys got a Wii for christmas and the conservatory is its new home - god knows what our electric bill is going to be like as the heaters have been on constantly.

Perhaps you could ring up a conservatory supplier and ask about the roof?

My mate plasterboarded the inside of her roof and it was fantastic. Obviously this was a permanent thing. It was still really light due to the amount of windows and from the outside she still had the conservatory roof.

The only thing we did was put roof foils into the polycarb roof. This has helped greatly in summer with heat and glare

But it is still flipping freezing in winter.

I was wondering about plasterboarding it

But thought it would be very complicated & involve a builder

Also how much insulation would you get between the roof & the plasterboard?

Does your friend have a problem with condensation?
