White or pale grey grout? (Pictures)

Having new shower enclosure installed. The tiles are white marble effect with grey veins. Previous shower had white grout which was very hard/impossible to keep clean no matter what I did.

Old shower was prob well over 10 years old. Tiler says new grouts are very good and mould/mildew resistant and even white will stay clean without too much hassle.

I'm a bit nervous of getting white again even so, but existing tiling around bath is similar marble effect with white grout which has remained perfect.

Tiler suggested pale grey to match veins. But that will not match bath. What to do?

Un-grouted pic is new shower tiles, one with taps in shot is around bath. Tiles look very different because of different lights but actually pretty close in colour, though not the same tiles.

I'd go with white Smile

I've had grey grout years back and I hated it

Peeeas · 08/04/2022 19:15

Had light grey and loved it - it's not too dark once on so that it draws the eye, but never got that horrible grotty look that white does. Plus sprayed it with this stuff regularly to keep it clean without scrubbing: www.lakeland.co.uk/23823/Blitz-That-Mould-Remover-Spray-500ml?src=gfeed&gclid=CjwKCAjwur-SBhB6EiwA5sKtjvVgYRKXgIe8I5fPXfiQEa1Zlj4CYVt9511a96IO_YY69ps87x28bhoCb88QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Grey grout looks incredibly dated. We’ve got it in our kitchen and I’m so over it. Go for white.

@Peeeas that mould spray looks awesome - given that things like that exist I will prob bite the bullet and go with white. I think matching is better as long as I can keep it mould free.

White

Marinapeppina · 31/03/2023 17:36

pale grey definitely, white grout is a fool's game

Snap with the tiles, although mine might be a matt finish. Having been having the exact same conversation about grout today, think we are going for white

Pale grey

I went for grey on the basis that I like it, so I'm not bothered if it looks dated or not - we aren't planning on moving again. Much easier to keep and "look" clean.

Mintchocmabel · 31/03/2023 18:45

Grey REALLY detracts from the pattern in the marble.
We very recently had a bathroom refitted and assumed we’d go grey but the superb fitter told us to go white and I’m so pleased he did. But make sure they add some spray sealer/protector (sorry I can’t recall the name) to prevent yellowing. It works and you get full visual benefit of the lovely tiles

This is a bit of a zombie thread but to update - I went for the white to match the grout already here because my tiler got mould and mildew repellent grout and the reassurance that the Lakeland spray was available!
It's been a year of regular use by a large family and thus far it's holding up nice and white, and I'm really happy with the choice. Grin
