Floor laid in different directions between rooms

Does anyone have this and does it bug you?

Ideally I’d have it the same throughout but I am getting my kitchen diner done soon and going for wood effect tile (planks). Because of the layout and size, the tiles will need to be laid in the opposite direction to the rest of the house, so will be obvious where the hall and kitchen meet.

Laminate in the rest of the rooms which I don’t want to change (but even if I did they would still have to be different directions)

I don’t know how much this will bug me, especially as it’s also going to be 2 different wood effects. But it’s either that or have ‘tile’ tiles which I’m not keen on with the kitchen I’ve picked. The install date is looming so need to pick some floor very soon!

if the floor in the kitchen is not trying to match the floor in the other rooms, I don't think it matters. how often will you even see them in the same eyeful?

Do they have to- or is it juts easier to? It would probably drive me a bit nuts, unless it's not matching in all the rooms. Then it wouldn't stand out.

It’s a galley kitchen, so if laid in the same direction as the hall, they wouldn’t fit in full length between the units and would look odd.

Hall and living room match completely. It’s not open plan at all but you do see the kitchen (albeit only the diner bit) first from the hall, as you come into the house
