Mortgage and new job

Tapping into the hive mind here as we're not quite at the stage of engaging a broker.

I start a new job next month with my current company and will be getting a payrise.

We're also looking to move, does anyone know if lenders will be ok lending on the new salary straight away based on my 4 years tenure with the company to date?

A few years ago I moved jobs (within the NHS) just before getting my mortgage. Because I didn't have the required number of pay slips I had to get a letter from hr stating how long I'd worked for them, how much my pay was and that the job was a permanent position. This was with santander. Wasn't too difficult.

I think you should be fine based on work history. About 5.5 years ago I needed a mortgage unexpectedly (divorce). I'd been made redundant from an NHS job, had three months off and just got a new job (also NHS). Effectively I had one months work history to show. Spoke to a broker and it turned out not to be an issue at all. Mainstream mortgage with Nationwide at a good rate. These things are more flexible than they appear, you have a solid work history with the company and can evidence the change of pay. Hope it works out for you.
