Help! Is this tap ok for the bathroom basin? (Photo)

We've always had bathroom basins with 3 hole taps, but for our new bathroom, I've found a vanity unit I like that has only one hole. Is it strange having a 1 hole tap for the family bathroom?

I attach a photo of the unit and the Crosswater Belgravia Mini Basin Monobloc tap. I don't like most 1 hole taps - including those with two levers and a spout in the middle, but this one looks quite sweet to me.

I'm just worried that going from 3 holes to 1 might be strange? Are 1 hole taps more for cloakroom bathrooms?

Alternatively, can anyone find a well priced (

I think it's a good choice. I hate single taps and would always choose a mixer tap, my dad is the opposite and hates mixers. My husband has a colleague who was transferred from another country and the sinks in her temporary accommodation were separate ones and she refused to stay there and forced the company to move her because separate taps are "inhumane".

So feelings seemingly run very high on this matter.

I think your tap matches the style of your sink well and will look fine. Once you've got used to a mixer you'll never go back!

Sorry I think I might have confused readers - both the 3 hole taps we've had in the past and this new 1 hole tap have mixers. I would never get 2 hole taps - they don't have mixers so it's either scalding or icy. No no.

It's more a question of whether having a single lever looks odd in the family bathroom?

A single lever looks completely normal

I always get a single lever. They are so much easier to use especially if you have children. The tap you have picked looks great.

Does that tap control water temperature and pressure separately? It looks like it only turns side to side (not up and down) so I don't get how it can have the proper control

We have a single lever downstairs, and it goes up and down as well as left and right, for pressure and temperature.

It's fine. The sink will be stronger as only one tap hole needs to be made when it's manufactured.

All my bathrooms have single mixer taps. It never occurred to me that it might be strange.

Those with single mixer taps - do your taps have just the one lever (per picture) or two levers either side of the mixer spout?

One lever
