paint type/brand for hallway and stairs

Hi, I am relatively inexperienced at interior design and decorating in general. I am hoping that people will be able to give recommendations re paint types and brands (ie not colours yet!). Whilst I like a matt finish, the most important thing for me is to be able to wipe scuff marks off the walls. I guess I am looking for a hardwearing and wipeable paint.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

Wickes Tough and scrubbable is amazing. I have navy in my hallway and it still comes up new after a wipe down after about three years

Thanks @PotatoFamily - will look into this brand - sounds to have exactly the properties I am looking for.

We used Dulux Real Life Wahsable & Scrubbable in the past, it certianly fared well in the hallway were a mucky dog liked to sleep Grin Dulux don't sell this partiuclar type of paint now though, I guess it's been replaced by Easy Care (Washable & Tough).

A trade paint will be more hardwearing than regular paint. Dulux Trade or Johnstone's Trade are good brands and can be mixed in any colour, or can be colour matched to F&B etc. Maybe look at an acrylic durable Matt for a hallway

Agree with Dulux trade - much better quality than domestic

Hallways do scuff unfortunately:(

A different way to go about things would be to choose an affordable paint (I like Dulux in the massive tubs) and repaint any scuffs every couple of years

Trade paint is the way to go - Leyland/ Johnstones (its made by the same company) is very good and is available in a range of colours and they will match other companies' colours and then mix you a blend.

Its worth going to a Leyland trade centre leylandtrade.com/ to buy as they are generally cheaper than B&Q etc and will have a bettter range. As they are geared towards the trade you may find you have to buy in larger capacity tins than diy shops and its best not to go at lunchtimes or the start of the day as that is when their trade customers buy

Dulux trade diamond matt is what you want. You can get it in brewers or dulux decorator centre.

Thanks for all the advice - looking online there is a Leyland Trade place only a few miles away - torn between their hardwearing matt and vinyl matt.
