Freestanding bath taps

Does anyone have these?
Do you have any problems with them?

I'm opting for a freestanding bath and really liked the antique bronze freestanding 'pipe' tap with a sleek shower hose but my plumber is advising a wall tap instead. I'm not averse to it, but I really want a shower hose for the bath as well.

Can anyone advise?

I'm just about to have a freestanding tap fitted. What's your plumber's issue with it? We had one in our old house & it was fine. We had it slightly to the back of the bath so it wasn't bumped into/in the way. As long as it's fitted properly, you shouldn't have problems.

Thanks @JamFrogEgg.
I think he said that the seals fail over time and that it starts to drip.

I can't find any other 'sleek' design though and don't want a bulky handle. I may just go for it. They're piped out of the way so no chance of traffic banging into them.

What does he mean by 'seals'? All taps need washers from time to time, this is ok & very mendable. If he means at floor level, a very small discrete bead of clear silicone can be used around the base. That's what we did.

Unsure actually. He just said they'd leak over time Confused

I think I'll go for them. I'll heed his warning but I can't find any other that I like.
