Argh! We are due to move in 2 weeks and the oven has just packed in, struggling to find one that fits the space perfectly. Any ideas?

Ots often the element which goes and is cheap and easy to fix, that that first

@RidingMyBike

I'd let your buyers know and offer to replace with similar or offer the cash equivalent - which would they prefer? As a buyer I'd prefer to know and then I'd consider taking the cash and replacing with a better model than be left with a brand new cheap one.
This ^^

I'd rather have the cash to choose my own than be left with cheap one that someone else chose, especially when so close to completion.

Will probably be an easy and cheap fix. Check out espares and youtube for help diagnosing the problem.

We had an appliance break between exchange and completion. Gave our buyers money to replace it. They accepted then after completion sent us many complaints Hmmabout the broken appliance. We gave them enough to buy a better brand than the one we had too!

I would get your estate agent to ask them if they would like to choose their own oven and that you will get them X amount towards it (research the cost of an equivalent replacement first).

They might be really happy to be able to pick their own oven.

Get your estate agent to let the buyers know, explain the situation and say you didn't want to replace with a cheap oven not to their taste. Offer them the cheapest option money wise

@Lineofconcepcion

Get it repaired, unless you are in the middle of deepest Wales, I'm sure you can find an appliance repairman. If you're south Oxfordshire I can give you a name.
We have repairmen in Wales Grin

Is there a house clearance place that has 2nd hand ones in your area. Alternatively try a bumps and dents appliance retailer where you could get one cheaply.
