Bathroom quote - is this normal?

We've received a few bathroom quotes and I'm trying to work out where we might be able to shave a bit of the cost. The quotes give a single price for labour, despite the job involving several trades - the room needs plastering, there's a stairs bulkhead that's getting boxed so there's carpentry work too, plus electrics and tiling. Would it be reasonable to ask for the cost of these trades to be split out on the quote? Or is there a reason it's not done like this? Thanks.

If you have asked for a quote for the work that's is what is provided.

Tell them you are revising the budget and ask then to breakdown the work

It might be a general builder doing all the work so he won't need a carpenter or a plasterer etc..... so the quote is just the price for him to do it.

You might struggle if you do want to separate it out as you will have to line up a plasterer and a carpenter at exactly the right time to do the job so the builder isn't hanging around waiting for your trades to arrive. If he organises it himself he can do it around when he knows he will need them, and he will know they will turn up on time as he will work with them a lot. What if your guys don't turn up?

I had some building work done last year and the person who I contracted to build then brought in a sparky , a labourer and a landscaper.
He paid them the going rate, which he was happy to talk to me about.

Asking for a breakdown is useful though, because you might be able to see where you can shave bits off.
