Rickmansworth Grammar/Ruislip Eastcote Ickneham Comprehensive/Pinner

Hi mums, we are looking to move & have been thoroughly confused whether to prioritise our search based on secondary options and more importantly grammar school choices or not. Budget wise we can afford a detached in above areas but would be a stretch touching six figures price. We are currently local to Harrow & would love your unbiased advice:

  1. Pinner- Seems lovely but limited local comprehensive options- Pinner High and Nower Hill. Catchment is too tight & not many detached options available.
  1. Ruislip Eastcote Ickenham- Queensmead, Ruislip High and Vyners seem good options but not sure how good they are. Is Eastcote/Ruislip manor and ickenham/Hillingdon worth considering or better than Pinner? Keep hearing about increasing crime in Harrow.
  1. Ricky - All parents (primarily those preparing for grammar) seem to be seeing this as an aspirational place to live in with more detached house choices and better value for money. However, it seems less multi-cultural and not sure if we could feel out of the place. Love London vibes. Is it worth moving Ricky considering the schools are top notch and preparing for grammar exams mean SW Herts is the best option to be in for priority catchment?

Your unbiased thoughts are very welcome either way. Torn between how far to think about grammar (DS is in Y1) and make a decision about choosing local comp as a fallback option or prep early for grammar options.

Ricky sch is not a grammar. It is part of the SW Herts consortium though.

@deathbollywood Sorry if I wasn't clearer. I meant Rick area as a whole offering SW consortium choices of schools with priority catchment.

The good Pinner high schools are really good. So from an education perspective, as long as you live close enough, they are good choices. Agree about lack of detached properties within those catchments though.
