Best expanding foam for absolute amateur filling in a hole

Just that really! I’m self taught and not the best! Need to fill in a hole where a socket was, there are so many on the market not sure which to use. Planning on using the foam, slicing off then smoothing over with polyfiller before painting x

In theory, that's how we all imagine it'll go. In reality, it was messy, awkward and not worth the money. We ended up using a tub of ready made concrete and filled it with layers over a few days.

get the small cans from poundland....2 quid....as you cant keep it...spray area with water first....it sticks better and use a little...it grows....!!!

I would just use a deep fill 'polyfilla'. Much easier and less faff.

Honestly pollyfiller will be a lot easier and less stressful unless the hole is huge. You can even buy ready mixed plaster in tubs which is better for bigger holes. Expanding foam filler goes everywhere and is impossible to get off anything it touches including skin.

This polyfilla is great. We had some holes down to blockwork above a window removed the old curtain tracks just let it dry properly, light sand then a couple of coats of paint.
Perfect!
