Anyone have honed slate in their bathroom floor? Or marble?

I'm getting a bit stuck on bathroom flooring. I've always had riven slate, and would like to continue with natural stone, but switch it up a bit. I love the look of honed slate, but the sample I have is very smooth. I'm a bit worried about everyone slipping over. The internet seems to think it's not slippery, but I'm not convinced. Anyone have experience? I'm also a bit worried that there's a reason slate usually isn't honed. Any downsides I should know, apart from slippiness?

The other thing I considered was a dark grey tumbled marble, like this one: www.mandarinstone.com/product/bluestone-tumbled-marble/ It's gorgeous, but I'm worried about etching and staining, especially near the toilet (bleargh). DC wouldn't be using this bathroom. Does that make marble a reasonable choice?

I have honed slate in a downstairs loo. It’s lovely stuff and I haven’t noticed it being more slippery than other tiles BUT it has marked (etched) where the DC have left drips of handwash or toothpaste, and there are a few suspicious marks round the loo too.

I expect you’d have the same issues with marble tbh.

Basically both will probably be fine if you are careful about spills but porcelain is definitely more bombproof.

Thanks, that's encouraging to know real people do have it. Although it's less encouraging about the etching. I may need to think about that.
