Random step in house - trip hazard?

We're looking at a house which has a wide doubleway from the family room to the kitchen. There is a step about 10 cms deep in this doorway.
It is onto a tiled floor.
I think it is dangerous for toddlers (and potentially adults!) and I guess this is why this house hasn't sold.
Thoughts please.

We have a stone step in our house (Victorian) leading from kitchen to utility/garden room.
It's very handy for hitting things with a mallet on to tenderise/pulverise eg. steak, nuts etc.

Our house has several such steps (some higher) between various rooms due to the previous owners extending in different directions (the plot the house is on isn't flat). We have toddlers. It's honestly fine. They learn amazingly quickly.

One of my DC is dyspraxic and doesn't have any bother at all (or with the narrow treads on the main staircase), but the kitchen steps in our house are very obvious, you couldn't not notice they are there.

We have a few random steps in our house. One in the middle of the kitchen diner which goes all the way across the room. We now have the kitchen cupboards on both levels so have a matching step in the worktop. Also have one in our bedroom going from the bedroom into the en suite and we have two steps in the hallway between the lounge and kitchen. No one has ever fallen on them either. Didn't put me off buying the house. The two step one in the hallway was a problem for elderly parents when they came to visit as there was no handrail and they kind of panicked and clung to the wall going up and down. We have now fitted a small handrail there and it's fine now.

Kids are so adaptable and will not be toddlers forever either! I doubt most people will have even noticed it, doubt it’s a reason it wouldn’t sell
@BlueMongoose you would hate our house Grin I didn’t mention the stairs which all have different tread depths and height with no consistent pattern. In fact the tread isn’t deep enough for me to put my foot straight so I go down them with my foot at an angle. My kids haven’t fallen down them once though.
I run up and down our stupid stairs without tripping now, except for at night when the 'spook step' that isn't really there on the landing causes me to grab for the bannister. I think once you get used to them, odd steps are fine. Then you get a visitor and forget to warn them....

I'm short in height. In our previous house, we had one of those staircases where the roof smacks tall people in the head, but I could run up and down without any risk of hitting it. My workroom was upstairs. On the (fortunately rare) occasions a client visited to see a work in progress for next stage approval, I had to remember to warn them if they were above about 5' 4". I didn't always remember. Hmm
