farmhouse flagstones

Has anyone got these? Specifically the ones from the website named farmhouseflagstones? They're based in Gloucester and they create flagstones exactly like old ones. These are suited to underfloor heating.

They're also super reasonable and I'd love to have some in my cottage renovation. I live about 3 hours away from their showroom and I don't think anyone else does anything like this.

We have them and are absolutely thrilled with them. We haven’t used them with underfloor heating, but don’t think it would be a problem.

Everyone who comes round comments on the floor and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Oh fantastic!!
I've emailed them this week to enquire about a visit. They've recently moved premises and don't have a huge amount on display.

Which ones have you got? They all look lovely.

Also, who laid them for you @The2Omicronnies ?

We went for Old Mill in the Cotswold colour. They were great; delivered everything, including sealant and grout. We got several quotes from local tilers, and went with one who our builder recommended. The tiles are very heavy, and need to be kept dry until they’re laid, so make sure you can store them :-)

Hi,

I know this is an old thread - praying you will answer - could you tell me if your farmhouse flagstones are cold without under floor heating ? I want them and I don’t have any - also are they hard to keep clean and do they take much maintenance? Like do you have to treat them etc - thank you x

Hi @Jacq7
Yes, they're pretty cold with no UFH. We have a pantry where the floor isn't heated and a little further, a downstairs loo where there's no UFH. It's not an issue now of course, but it's cold in the winter. I would definitely NOT consider having these without the UFH in a kitchen as you'd sense the cold immediately.

They are pretty hardy but one thing that really bugs me is that I have to hoover them as the grouting between each tile is where the dust / day to day dirt gathers and cannot be swept up - the grouting is lower than the tile. That could be something your tiler addresses I suppose.

They need te-coating ever year too or else they get too porous.

All in all I like the look and they are lovely and warm with UFH, but I'd get engineered wood next time if I could!
