Kitchen is being delivered today - chaos!

Tell me your positive kitchen experiences please?

I'm excited but nervous about our own work - we've done so much to get to this point. The electrics needed redoing, the walls needed skimming and painting. All that is done and prepped. We are getting new flooring, and the kitchen itself of course.

The dining table is in the family room and the fridge is in the hall. I've taken out some of the cupboards already and they are sitting in the garden waiting for disposal.

Tell me it will all be OK. Eeeek.

LivingOnAnIsland · 13/02/2022 12:37

@MiniCooperLover

This was the during and after for us. Good luck op, it's very exciting.
Where did you get your flooring from? I think it's exactly what I want!

Yes, we are nearly there! Tiler coming tomorrow for the splashback, windowsills and edges around the counter tops. I'll share a picture soon, hurray!

It's everything we had planned and hoped for, we have had a great experience with a highly skilled fitter.

@MrsMouse03 it's a mid-range wood-style laminate. It's really hard wearing - we already had it in the conservatory for about 3 years and when we had the work done, we bought more and continued through. You can't tell which is the three year old stuff and which is new!
I sent the label to someone at the time so luckily have a pic...

Thank you @Navykitchen might look at this for hall and kitchen Smile

LivingOnAnIsland, our flooring is Karndean Parquet Tiles. I think this colour was American Oak.

KathieFerrars · 15/02/2022 17:47

@MiniCooperLover Is your kitchen dark green? I've seen a dark green that I really like but not sure I am brave enough!

MiniCooperLover · 16/02/2022 07:28

KathieFerrars, no it's a very dark blue. I do love it but would have loved a dark green, it can look a bit cold at times but dark blue was the compromise with DH who initially wanted charcoal. I think a warm dark green would look beautiful, go for it 👍

Okay these kitchen photos are brilliant. Going to have to save this thread for when we eventually do a kitchen remodel!

QuiteAtALoss · 16/02/2022 10:40

I think we are mostly there, just a few more shelf / pan hanging things to put up.

This has been a work in progress for several months, needing electrics rewired, more lighting, and tiling from floor to ceiling removed, plastering done, repainting, etc.

Our fitter removed the tile floors and replaced with laminate, too. There was tile everywhere!!

Very happy with the outcome, however. Smile

@MiniCooperLover do you mind sharing approximately how many thousands your kitchen cost?

QuiteAtALoss · 16/02/2022 22:51

Namechangeagain2021, I think from memory it was approx 4K for the units, 3K for the work surface and fridge/freezer, dishwasher and oven/job and 6K for the floor as it's covering our whole ground floor. And we had utility done too. Units are from Benchmarx, Midnight Blue.
