Planning – Flood Risk Assessment

I have applied for permission to move a window on the back wall of my house. I have just been told by the council planning department, that I need to submit a Flood Risk Assessment. Does anyone know how much is this likely to cost and where I can get one done? Thank you.

I’m not sure you need this for moving a window. The governments web site seems to indicate you don’t. I’ve attached 2 pages of it. You need to read all of it and see if you really do need one. Then go through what the web site tells you to do. Flood zone 1 might be an issue. We have moved windows without pp. are they not permitted development? Are you in a conservation area or listed?

Thank you for your reply. We are flood zone 2, in a conservation area and grade 11 listed!

Grade 2 listed? Check your planning department policies but this looks to be overkill for a window. The government planning web site tells you how to get the assessment. Not sure if costs but it’s totally stupid in my view.
