What would you do with this layout? Kitchen dated so needs redoing at some point and utility also dated.. Wondering about knocking through and creating a longer kitchen/diner but the utility room has a conservatory type roof (extended by previous owners)..
There's a old school serving hatch between living room and kitchen so could knock that through, too/or? Any ideas on price from someone who has done similar?
Any ideas welcome!

Make the existing kitchen into a small utility (U)

Give the old utility a proper roof and square it off and have a nice big window to the garden (no door). Open an archway to the dining room. Put the kitchen in there (K) with units all around the walls to give loads of storage.

Definitely swap the kitchen and utility over so the kitchen looks out over back garden.

Hmm ... tricky. On balance, I think I would knock through the kitchen to the utility and make that into one large room with a doorway between what's now the utility and the dining area. (Isn't the kitchen quite dark at the moment? There seems it have little natural light.) I'm not sure about parietal's suggestion because I would want to be able to enter the kitchen directly through the front door (e.g. with food shopping) but also to enter the garden directly from the utility (e.g. to hang washing).
