LVT or engineered wood floor in a sitting room?

I live in a south-facing seafront house and am looking to replace the carpet in the sitting room. I can't decide between an engineered wood or LVT (there's a Karndean one I really like) - I can see pros and cons for both.

I have a large dog, so it needs to be practical and hard wearing, so that makes me lean towards the LVT, but I've always thought wood floors in a living room look nicer. I've had Karndean and Amtico floors before, but only in kitchens, and I've really liked them, but I've had wooden floors in other houses as well and really liked them too.

Thinking of when I come to resell (not imminently, but at some point in the future), are either of these flooring types more appealing? For reference, I'm not in a super-expensive house, just an average nice family house, so I want something that's going to be appropriate, if that makes sense. Would you be put off by either of them and if so, why...?

I've never had LVT, so not talking from experience, but I have seen people mention fading before, which might be an issue if you're south facing, so I'd look into that.

I think from a resale point of view there are probably more people in the engineered camp, just as it's not fake, but I'd really go for what works best for your family.

I'm thinking of a paler colour floor, partly because of the sun, and partly as I want a slightly "beachy" look to the room, so the fading probably wouldn't be too much of an issue, but it's worth considering, so thank you.
