Buying a new build - will garage block my garden sunlight

I'm looking at buying a new build - I'm a first time buyer and using help to buy, so there are v limited options in my budget / area.

I'm hoping some of the smart people on here can help me with a query. I'm looking at plot 63 on the attached map.I believe the garden is south west facing, so should get the light in the afternoon / evening?

What I am trying to work out is whether the garage of plot 64 will block this? It's a single storey, and I've asked the developer for the dimensions and whether it is built on the same level as the house I'm looking at.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The garden would be shaded in the morning until about 1 o'clock in the afternoon, then there should be plenty of light.

i would think the sun should be high enough through most of the year that it wouldn't be an issue

you may find in the winter that house 65 blocks the sun until later in the afternoon too. The sun is so much lower in the sky during winter. Pitched roof or flat roof will make a big difference.

It not a great set up. The garages would be better attached to the houses and sitting adjacent to allow for maximum sun.

Thank you - I'll check what type of house 65 is also

I think you'll be fine in the afternoon and evening. In my garden certainly in the evening and I'd say from mid afternoon the sun is coming from the west. Which looks clear for you.

Never mind that what about the shared drive?
Bloody minefield

Honestly, on a new build estate you aren't going to get much better wrt shading.

Agree, not to keen on that it I believe 62 has already been reserved.

63 looks like the garden would be potentially a bit quieter as it is less fully surrounded by other gardens, or that's what I'm hoping

41, 42 and 43 might have better aspect for the sun.

Assuming the colours are prices (?) - if you can afford one of the red/ orange then 54-60 also would have a nice aspect.

To be honest, if someone is going to be disruptive in their garden, the garage won't be enough to mitigate. People are mostly tolerable in their gardens though!

One thing to think about with a garage wall forming some of the boundary is that you may have to ask permission to attach trellising or a washing line to the wall. I'd also make sure there are no windows in the garage wall that look directly into your garden.
