Leighton Buzzard

After about 10 years of living in London, I am now considering moving to Leighton Buzzard with my partner. The house prices seem reasonable and so far, it looks like a nice place to live. Does anyone live there/nearby that can offer any advice?

Don't live there but I considered moving there too as it is a decent commute to London.

I spent a day walking around and sitting at local cafes to get a feel of the place. It looked OK with some decent shops and amenities.

But for me it just was not right. The waiting staff was beyond rude in the café where I went to eat (I think my accent had something to do with this..) , the town is very white and it is all quite small and parochial. Made me feel unwelcome and I could not wait to get back on the train to London. Sorry not to be more positive.

It's great in terms of amenities like supermarkets and for train travel into London.

High Street is ok and functional but I wouldn't choose to go there for a meander for fun if that makes sense.

Some of the residential bits have a really nice feel to them and some don't.

I looked there but ended up in a village nearby. The surrounding area is really nice, with picturesque countryside and easy walks just outside LB.

i have just moved from woburn and would often go to leighton buzzard. there are some good areas and there are some really rough areas with alot of anti social behaviour.
shopping/amenities are really good. house prices are pretty good. schools are good to. some lovely walks nearby.

Thanks everyone! Which areas are particularly full of anti social behaviour out of interest, so I know where to avoid!

Look at Linslade for a house.

I've lived here over 20 years.
