Kitchen Help! Draining grooves on worktop by sink or not?!

I'm currently trying to make decisions about our long awaited kitchen! We have a large island with a sink in the middle, double Belfast. Pale/ white Quartz worktops.

I need to decide if I want drainer grooves? I've heard mixed reviews and that they can get yucky.

Does anyone have any experience/advice? I need to make a decision and have total renovation fatigue

I’ve been meaning to get a drainer since we out our kitchen in, because we were also advised not to get the grooves cut.

I haven’t got round to it yet because it just hasn’t mattered. There isn’t a lot of water there at all. I was imagining it waterfalling down to my floor.

I have grooves both sides of my island sink and find them useful. I dry them a couple of times a day when the sink has been used and there are no maintenance issues.

I have the same draining slope as @PeterPomegranate described. It works and is pretty subtle visually
