All-in-one laundry, loo and boot room - good idea?

We currently have a tiny boiler/utility room, downstairs loo and a very small hall cupboard all next to each other. If we knocked the 3 into one we could create quite a large rectangular space off the hallway that would fulfill all these functions with the bonus of space where we currently have cramped.

I love the idea. But bearing in mind we have half a mind to move in 2-3 years, is this something that would appeal to you?

Not a deal-beaker but I always say I wouldn't want a toilet in with cloaks/utility. Any guests needing the loo would see my crap. If I bought a house laid out this way I'd be looking to separate them back out.

I think boot rooms and large utilities are great in principle but I wouldn't actively merge everything, just to create a big room that will inevitably end up being filled with stuff.

We did a loo laundry room. It saved us needing a steel to remove a load bearing wall. Looks great works well.

We have this but I don't hang washing to dry in there. Washing machine is behind a curtain and tumble dryer is in the big cupboard that we built.

We have similar to the above.
A washing machine and dryer hidden in cupboards, with worktop above. Spare coats not used day to day and ironing board storage in a single wardrobe.

So when cupboards closed you really only see toilet and sink like in a normal bathroom.

I don't want my toilet next to my coats / shoes / scarves or clean washing. I'd (at a push) put a toilet into a room with a large laundry basket and a washing machine. But I'd not dry clothes in there or want to store coats.

@justaweeone

I love that!

It sounds fine to me. Commonplace in country houses where the cloak/boot room is large enough. Washing machine and tumble drier under a counter, with a sink and space for potting plants or arranging flowers too.

Yes

This is similar to the layout we'd end up with, only less square, more rectangular.

I'm imagining coat hooks and a shoe storage on the left of that pic, where the white door is, a long way from the loo

Catelina, the cupboard we had built is double doored, houses tumble dryer, extra towels and bedding, vacuum cleaner, coats, shopping bags etc etc.
It works really well for us.
