Living next to a school - any experience?

Yet another post from me in this topic...we are househunting so feedback on our various options is proving very helpful!

The latest one for consideration- what's it like living next to a school? As in, not literally next door but close enough that your road gets used as overflow parking, and the playground could presumably be heard?

Next door to primary school, literally only the other side of our semi is closer to them. There is a 1300 pupil high school next to the primary. Hearing playtime and occasional sports day no problem, getting out of the drive or getting deliveries during school start and leave times, nightmare.

Fucking school parents and parking and blocking the drive, stopping on hazard lines, being rude, stopping on your drive. Need I say more?

Covid and home schooling was a gift from god 🙏🏼

We live opposite a private primary. It's honestly fine for the lost part! I love the sound of kids playing and there's zero noise evenings and weekends and longer school hols. The entitled parents irk me a lot though, not just parking but parking dangerously, rolling their eyes when I say excuse me to get them to move away from my gate so I can enter or leave etc, but I reckon every address has antisocial neighbours of one kind ot another

We live next to a primary school and while it was practical for our children, I wouldn't want to live here forever. The entitlement of some car-driving parents is astonishing.

I do think the distance and position matters. I lived round the corner from a primary school for years -- that was fine. I could see the school from my house etc but the noise was just happy children from that distance.

When I lived in the elevated position, really directly on the playground, it was hell. Hell!
