Moulded internal doors - what’s your thoughts? (Link included)

Looking at them vs more expensive ones I honestly can’t tell the difference - yes you can when you open then as the weight is different. But it’s such a price difference I’m thinking of going for the cheaper ones in my house.

What do you think - cheap and nasty or do it?!

They look nice..but I would need to see them in real life

I don't like the fake woodgrain finish. It looks like fake woodgrain. If it was real wood you would sand it smooth before painting.

I believe it is a door made of air, with a thin ornamental coating of hardboard. It will not obstruct noise or anyone who wants to get through it, but it will block draughts when closed. If you punch or kick it, your hand or boot will go through.

You can get a similar looking but solid door if you want an actual door.

Are these like the hollow ones? We have those kind in our house - not the same design as you but the same in that ours are not proper wood ones. They are really quite shit! If you can afford it I would go for the proper ones but if you can't then they look virtually the same - as you say you can only tell the quality when you open and close them.

We’ve got those. I think they look really nice. Prefer them not too glossy with brushed steel handles. But that’s just my preference. You can get heavier ones but don’t really get the big benefit

We got non hollow doors which were about £150 each. 2 of them we got half price never used from FAcebook. We also bought an old pine door that suited us from Facebook and joiner made it fit.

We preferred the weight of the solid doors.

We have one hollow core £20 B&Q door on a cupboard we don't use much that is out of sight. You can tell the difference.

DD has these very doors in her first house.

It depends on your budget, they look great in her little pad, but they are hollow and light, I wouldn't have them in my forever house.

For her budget though they do the job although she can't fasten a row of coat hooks on the back of the under-stairs cupboard one like she'd hoped.

They are not awful but also not great - I had a look at them in store when I was selecting new doors last year. They feel flimsy and the overall finish isn’t wonderful. Perfectly fine for the price but definitely a noticeable difference between them and the Todd Doors ones I eventually went with.

Thanks everyone, a mixed bag!

Check out leader doors, you can get wooden ones for a reasonable price. Just search "Cottage"
I had cheap doors in my new build apartment, all the handles became loose as the hardboard facia didn't fasten the screws well.
Personally I'd stretch the budget and get solid doors.
