I'm noseying around a property which sits on a south facing slope. Current access to the garden, which does flatten out, is down the equivalent of a flight of stairs, a 'drop' of about 2m. It feels a bit 'removed'; I like to just step out into the garden and be on the same level as it.
I'm wondering whether anyone has built a rear extension on a sort of 'split level' to deal with a slope? The floor of the extension being a sort of 'half floor' down (accessed by stairs), but retaining the ceiling height of the room at the rear of the house from which the extension is built, if that makes sense? A one-and-a-half height extension (very airy!) ? Access to the garden would feel nicer that way, with a shorter 'drop'.
Anyone have any pictures, as I can't seem to find what I am looking for online?
