Who pays for water damage repair in a flat

Not sure this is the best place to post this. I live in a lower ground flat (a period building converted into flats).

My bedroom wall has been damp for a little while so in the summer the management company had some work done to the outside of the building (re-rendering etc) which hopefully has stopped the water getting in.

The wall feels much drier now, but I am left with a stained wall and the paint has peeled off and gone crystally in places (not sure how to describe it) due to water getting into the bricks and pushing through the paintwork.

The management company of the block paid for the work to the outside of the building but should they also pay for the interior decoration work or should I pay for it?

I have asked the woman who runs the management company but she said she didn't know and would have to look into it. I own the flat as opposed to rent it.

Many thanks.

I would expect it to be covered under the buildings insurance so I'd guess that's a block policy held by the management company?

Building insurance I think.

Thanks. I think the buildings insurance excess (£250) might not make it worthwhile raising a claim, so the Management Company will probably pay.

We claimed this from building insurance held by the management company. It was their incompetence that lead to the damage. However, for us, the damaged carpets, curtains and tv etc had to be covered by my contents insurance, which bumped up my premiums!!
