Easiest kitchen tap to clean

I've got a shiny old kitchen tap that always has water marks, can't get them off, tried Lakeland's finest products.

Which tap material ages best for looking clean and mark free for kitchen taps, any views?

The IKEA Bosjon tap is amazing. The level to turn it on or off is directly over the spout, so you don't drip water all over the back of the tap and worktop/sink. I don't know why more taps don't have this design! We've had the black (old house) and now the brushed steel, I would say the latter is easier to keep looking clean.

chromed brass is most durable.

It sounds like you have hard water.

A simple high-necked bib tap is easy to clean and does not dribble water over itself, but you might not like the style.

Taps with rotating swan-necks tend to dribble out of the rotating joint as they wear

some taps will dribble round the knob spindle with age and wear. You can tighten or repack the gland, or fit a new cartridge, IF you are fond of simple plumbing repairs and IF it is made by a major British manufacturer such as Bristan, so that replacement parts are readily available at low cost.

Enquire about the cost of a pair of replacement cartridges before you buy a tap. Don't believe the tap salesman.

Ceramic taps (quarter-turn lever) are particularly prone to wear.

That ikea tap design is ideal!

Think it may be getting a bit dld and leaky too - doing the kitchen this year hopefully and trying to make sure we go for durable options, thanks, good to think about replacing pieces as hoping not to have to do the kitchen again!
