House on a bus route: avoid?

We’ve seen a lovely house but it’s on a bus route. The road isn’t otherwise particularly busy. It’s strange that buses go down it as it’s quite narrow.

We were put off initially but having seen the house it’s lovely. Double glazed, so quiet inside, and the back garden is fine as shielded by the house.

Would it be hard to sell, though, as other people would have the same idea as us?

There's a bus stop right outside my house and I love it 😂 so nice when im coming home and I know I can walk for less than a minute and be home

The noise doesnt bother me, only thing I don't like is people on double deckers can see into the bedrooms, I keep meaning to get blinds or net curtains though Grin

If you don't drive its really convienient.

Oh I’d love this. I can’t drive because of a medical condition but considered it when we moved because I knew I may have periods where I couldn’t drive.

Great for the kids.
Great for visitors at weekends and parties etc as they won’t have to drive or park.
Great for resale value as appeals to commuters.

Bad side is noise and pollution but that’s being addressed. I grew up on a road that had 4 buses every 2/3 mins and never noticed the noise though.

I use buses all the time as we're in London and don't have a car. But I've always thought when sitting on the bus that I'd hate to live in a house that's actually on a bus route, as I'm nosy and always look inside their windows. Even with net curtains you can see inside, especially when it's dark and the lights are on. Currently we live on a side street that's just off a bus route, so it's hard for anyone on a passing bus to see inside, but still only 3 min walk to a bus stop. So for me that would be the ideal, a very short walk is really handy especially with lots of shopping/going on holiday, but not actually on the bus route itself.

We lived by a bus stop in London - it was a nightmare at night - luckily it was a rental.
