Pre paid boiler ran out of gas now wont work

Hi recently my pre paid gas ran out. I checked and I had 15 credits. I know my mums boiler had the same issue where it shuts off if there are only 15 credits left. She tells me an engineer comes and does something that takes 2 seconds and its working but he never told her why. Its a Vaillant boiler I tried topping up another £10 and put the card in to release gas and gas meter shows "o" which I think means on. No gas appliances in house to check gas supply. Anyone any ideas?

Honestly the A button does nothing on my meter. Its this meter here. Holding B says it releases gas and ive done that. It says o in the botton left which according to the manual means gas supply is open. I have about 38 credit so I think I have eough. I cant seem to post pictures as I am a new member.

Ok so gas meter point seems to be on. So now it is a boiler issue. Turn off at wall. Check pressure bar up and reset?

Are you rented? Ring landlord in morning if no joy

My boiler does this.
It’s stuck in a ‘ignition lockout loop’

You need to force it into doing a hard reset,
I do it by resetting, as it is resetting switch off the power switch on the wall.
Back on, reset, half way through switch it off.
Leave it for a minute, do it again,
I basically have to stand there doing this for a good 10 minutes, but eventually the boiler ‘forgets’ it’s stuck in the error loop and will reset and try to reignite properly.

It will do this every time it tries to light when the gas is off, so either turn off the boiler if your gas it low or don’t let your gas get low.
