Hello

I've been looking into various areas and wondered if anyone had any first hand experiences with Coventry? I'd it diverse, friendly, clean, etc?

Kind thanks

Balsall Common/Temple Balsall actually come under Solihull, not Coventry (both are quite expensive to live in nowadays).

Coventry is a nice city. The ring road is meant to be a nightmare but the train to London with Avanti is less than an hour and very close to Birmingham, not too far from Birmingham airport either.

Warwick University is actually in Coventry it may be full of students depending where you live. I would look at Tile Hill or Earlsdone

Warwick uni is at Westwood heath, so close to Canley, Earlsdon and Tile hill and 2 miles down the road is Kenilworth. Coventry uni is in Coventry and therefore there are many students with two universities within 4 miles of each other

@Doctoronpause I drive down the Kenilworth Road on my school run every morning and see plenty of girls in Stratford Grammar uniform getting the bus, so there is definitely a Coventry intake.

It's diverse but quite segregated.

Has some very lovely villages on the outskirts. City itself is dreadful and no amount of money would entice me to return.

One primary school in Earlsdon, Coventry.

I think it’s pretty unfair to judge the whole of Coventry on the basis of the actions of one absolutely desperate father that wanted to see his child.

I visited Coventry city for the first time last year and we liked it so much, we went back! By coincidence, I met someone at church who had also been there recently and raved about it, and my neighbour had a stop off and was surprised at how great the Cathedral was. So I’m not recognising this “dreadful” city centre.

@Bringsexyback

No one on this thread has referred to that incident? The video I shared via the BBC link was simply highlighting a school in Earlsdon that has overcome recent adversity.

Skyblueclouds77 · 23/03/2022 19:02

The city centre is not horrendous, what utter crap! Another one here born and bred in Coventry. No issues at all, some lovely areas and also some areas you'd wish to avoid (same as any city!). It's fine!
