island unit design with open ends?

I am trying to plan the island for a kitchen from HMKofC. i like the look of the pot rack ends to make the island more open. Anyone got this style? There is no sink/hob on the island and it is fairly long/narrow. Kitchen is period style with aga in chimney. I need some drawers in island so no option to have it all open. Unsure about a seat at one end but seating wont be a feature and wont be for eating. Thanks

It will get quite dusty and mucky potentially, at ground level, not too much used?
Looks nice though

I imagined largest pan and tall jug and maybe a basket so wont be great utilization of space.

Dont think i can visually have solid 3m long island so would either be just a 2m island or 2m with 500mm of open each end which will give the 3m work space i want without looking as solid. Objects would get dusty but base is natural wood so less of an issue I guess.

I'm no help, We ripped ours out and replaced with a table tennis table, during lock down one. I just hated the island and felt it was a waste of space.

Excellent! We are lucky to have separate games room which really helped in lockdown. I have an island in the space already and love it so definitely want one. Just cant decide about open ends or fully solid. Looks more open and spacious but then more cleaning and less efficiency of space.

Sorry, both islands I’ve had have been solid ended but wide (120cm plus) and long 3.6 metres. A pain to change worktops if too large. So be aware of the size you choose. I like the look of your open end idea especially with an aga in the chimney. With nice pots there it’ll look good. But do you need the storage for less attractive kitchen items?

I shouldnt need the storage as am getting far more cupboards than i have at the moment. However as units are from HMKofC you dont get as much useable space per unit ie 1m wide drawer only gives about 82cm wide and 42cm deep useable I think due to inframe style so it is hard to be sure. However I have large utility room adjoining.

I am planning for worktop to be 3.2m long as I understood that is maximum standard length in quartz so easiest to obtain. Is that correct? However I may do island in wood and quartz everywhere else. There is 8m run of work top on one side and a bit each side of chimney so feel it be could be good to be a different surface. No hob or sink in island and we dont mind an aged effect!
