Updating 70'sDark Brown Doors/ Frames

I've bought a flat which needs updating - what I hate the most is the dark doors & frames. I think the skirtings will need to be replaced too, as they are not properly attached to the walls.

Whilst I'd love to replace the doors & frames, it's not economically practical at the moment.

So I was thinking of sanding down & painting, possibly replacing the glass.

Any hints, tips or experience in doing this?

We have dark doors, but the frames are painted white, along with the skirtings. I wash the doors with detergent and vinegar and rub teak oil into them.

I would take the pins out the hinges and take the doors off to paint - I always splat paint on the brown bits when trying to paint the frames which does not look good.
