Tiny sink for tiny (old, horrible) WC

Hi all,

We have a very small WC in a (horrible, cold, retro) concrete extension at the back of our house. (This extension consists of a laundry room and WC, both walk-in cupboard sized, and another large storage room). Ultimately we will have the back of the house remodelled and so o don't want to spend much on this area... but I am desperate to get a small basin in with the loo. It's our only downstairs loo.

Here is a pic. I can't afford to change the toilet or the artex or anything, just add a sink. I thought a very small , short projection one like this would work? Is it too small to be practical?!

This link is a wall hung sink with no waste or tap provided , so I'll need to order these separately. I think all the walls are concrete block.

I will probably buy a mixer tap but it will have cold water input only. I don't think we can afford anything else atm.

Any advice appreciated thank you!

I fear your plumbing costs could be more than the sink - I haven't paid a day rate plumber for a while but I'm guessing half a day will be >£100 depending on where you are.

Looking at the pics it seems you have a tiled concrete floor and a bottom-outlet low-level WC.

It will not be practicable to connect a washbasin waste to it.

Have a look outside the wall as there might be a nearby yard gulley you could drain into, provided it goes to a sewer and not a rainwater drain. These gulleys are commonly found outside kitchen sinks and below bathrooms in older houses.

It is still possible to buy WCs to fit your outlet, but the choice is small. Please measure the distance from the back wall (not the skirting) to the centre of the soil pipe collar coming through the floor. I expect it is glazed clay.

I do not think it will be achievable on your budget.

Thank you so much @PigletInABlanketJohn , I can look outside and measure further tomorrow. The current cistern is plastic and the pipe from cistern to toilet bowl is also plastic so I had hoped this cistern+sink (leaving the existing toilet bowl and soil pipe alone) might be the answer

'mmm could be. I'm surprised it's designed for a low-level cistern. You'd need a flush valve with internal overflow (into the pan) so I suppose it must be included.

I have the exact same sink in my tiny downstairs loo. It's the tiniest sink I've ever used but does the job well. Tap to the left is ideal so that you can use the tap with the non-grubby hand.

Would it be easier to put a sink in the utility? If it’s all coming out eventually anyway?

Thanks so much all, we've gone for the cistern (not full loo) that has a sink on the top, can be retrofitted even to our very old
loo. It was £113 inc delivery for the cisterns and It should be the cheapest in terms on installation too, all being well (swapping out one cistern for another, no worries about drainage). I'll update when done in case useful for future readers!
