Bioethonel fires or stove recommendation?

Hi
I've been looking at these as a more environmentally friendly solution to wood burning / gas/ electric fires and I'd be interested to hear from anyone who owns one?
I've been considering something in the region of a 3/4kw output version but won't be reliant on it as a primary heat source.
Thanks

Bumping for you.

I have one from Biofires: www.biofires.com/black-label/83-luxury-montagu-bio-ethanol-fire-grate.html

I enjoy the real flame and it gives off good heat too. There is a slight smell which you can reduce by using a few drops of the specialist oils from
Bio fires or by opening the window for a minute. I’ve tried to attach a photo of the fire in action when first lit. The flames get much larger. I would definitely buy one again.

Trying a second time to show the fire in action.

Oh that's lovely! I can't open the link properly do you remember how many kw it is? Is the water evaporation an issue?

No water evaporation issues at all. The website doesn’t tell me how many kw but our large living room (around 20ftsq) gets very hot, the same as an equivalent sized gas fire.

That's a lovely fire. Does it cost a lot to run? The fuel seems expensive.
SollaSollew · 22/12/2021 18:35

This is ours, we’ve only had it in a few weeks but it all came as one unit so was incredibly easy to set up. A full bottle of fuel burns in about 2 to 3 hours and I got 12 bottles for £30 from Amazon. Not sure the kw rating but it does really heat up the room and looks lovely because it is a real flame. Imagine Fires, we have one, lovely alternative if you can't have a chimney

WhatsWrongWithMyUsername · 22/12/2021 19:03

We had one. We lit it…once. But of a faff and smelly. We didn’t need any warmth as the house was always very warm anyway.

WhatsWrongWithMyUsername · 22/12/2021 19:05

In fact I made the error of ignoring PigletJohn’s advice not to get one (this was many years ago)

AllTheCakes · 22/12/2021 19:07

I had an Imagin one in my old property. It looked great but was a fortune to run. It was a stunt fire only on when we had guests Grin

applespearsbears · 22/12/2021 20:23

From what I've read I think they have improved and I don't need it as a heat source although I would like some heat from
It. Just nice to have a 'real' flame to cosy up with on cold nights that don't pump out all the air pollution a real fire does. I like the ones that look like stoves

This would be my dream one!
