Are miele vacuums good for building work dust and small bits of rubble (don’t want a Henry)

I am having a fair bit of work done over the next coming months. I have just had a big dusty job completed, and my Shark has been shit. It’s not built for hard work and I cannot be arsed with it’s drama for the next few big jobs.

I’ve had it a few years now, getting close to need a new one anyway and I’ve been leaning toward a miele (no particular model in mind). I really don’t want a Henry, as much as he sucks up anything in the vicinity, I want to get a vacuum I’ll be happy with day to day as well (my rooms aren’t very big and Henry was too bulky and a pain manoeuvring around furniture etc)

No domestic vacuum will survive building material and fine plaster dust as the filter block and the machine will over heat.
Screwfix and Toolstation have some industrial vacs for less than £100. If they break within the year they will exchange, no fuss.

We are about 7 weeks away from finishing a complete house renovation. It has taken nearly 2 years. We used the Henry. He is a machine. All of the trades use him too. He’s still in perfect working order and he has hoovered up EVERYTHING!

Ps. I also think Sharks are absolutely shite. We had ours for less than a year.

Another vote for the Screwfix Titan wet and dry vacuum cleaner for general DIY work. We have had ours for 9 years.

We had an extension built and the builders were incredibly clean but there is always plaster dust in the air that lands after they have cleaned up. We are also very good at DIY so have used it to clean up all sorts of stuff both wet and dry.

You could always sell it second hand on ebay once all the building work is done. No way would I use my Miele to clean up building dust.

Are you stripping down the vacuum and washing the filters and parts regularly? I'm always shocked at the number of people who don't do this.

Honest;y, get a broom. Then when everything is swishy and new, get a Miele.

Another vote for the Screwfix Titan wet/dry. I killed my Vax with plaster dust and the Screwfix one is just brilliant. Cost me £35 or something ridiculous, copes with everything.
